Vanguard Properties awarded the “Equal Pay Seal” 2024
On November 14, National Day for Equal Pay, Vanguard Properties celebrated an important milestone in its commitment to equity and social justice. Vanguard Properties, through its management company, Vanguardeagle - Asset Management, was distinguished by the Commission for Equality in Labor and Employment (CITE) with the prestigious “Equal Pay Seal” 2024. This distinction recognizes the company's good practices in promoting equal pay for women and men, ensuring that equal work or work of equal value is rewarded equally.
The date also served as a reminder of the persistent wage inequality in Portugal, where women continue to earn, on average, 13.2% less than men. When regular bonuses and allowances are taken into account, the disparity rises to 16%, reinforcing the urgency of initiatives like this.
José Cardoso Botelho, CEO of Vanguard Properties, expressed his satisfaction with this recognition: “This award is a reflection of our commitment to building a work environment based on fairness and equal opportunities. At Vanguard Properties, we believe that eliminating pay disparities is not just a matter of ethics, but an essential factor for the success and sustainability of any organization. We will remain committed to fostering a culture where merit is the only criterion for appreciation.”
The “Equal Pay Seal” 2024 represents another step in Vanguard Properties' journey as an example of business leadership in Portugal, contributing to a more inclusive and balanced labor market.
